IMHX Show : NEC

Everything for today’s supply chain operations – under one roof!

The IMHX Show - 16-19 November, NEC Birmingham

The Paper Pallet Company has recently exhibited at the IMHX show at the Birmingham NEC. The show – which is held once every three years – is the must see destination for anyone involved in product handling. Running from 16 – 19 November 2010, this most recent show offered The Paper Pallet Company the opportunity to introduce its revolutionary new pallet to a wider audience. The reception the team received was excellent, and the stand was thronged with visitors every day of the show.

Paper pallets aren’t new, however the version made by The Paper Pallet Company has a unique design bringing greater strength and flexibility to the product, which is made from 100% recycled paper, and which importantly, are themselves 100% recyclable. With corporate sustainability concerns growing every day, and many businesses seeking to act in a more environmentally friendly way this new product creates a genuine opportunity to totally overhaul the footprint of any businesses environmental impact.

Visitors to the stand were able to see, touch and feel the new paper pallets and hear how they offer a compelling alternative to the traditional timber or plastic variety of transport pallet. Timber pallets are currently facing some extremely difficult issues and the June 2010 Purchasing Managers’ Index* highlighted sustained price rises in significant areas, including pallet timber**. Additionally, the Forestry Commission has recently confirmed that the paper pallet is 100% exempt from all ISPM15 regulatory compliance. For users seeking to export from or import to the UK, this is significant point of difference and one which the team were happy to talk through at the show.

Graham Hayes, Director of The Paper Pallet Company said, “The IMHX show was simply outstanding for whole team. We were busy from 9.30am when the doors opened every day, until 3.30pm when the last visitors left the stand, and have booked more leads than we ever expected to follow up from the show. It was great to be able to share all of the benefits of our product with people from across the supply chain. The idea that the pallets don’t need to be collected or transported round the country after use really touched a nerve with a lot of people – and we had a lot support which we hope to see translated into firm orders over the coming months.”

The Paper Pallet Company will be fully operational with an automatic pallet manufacturing and assembly operation early in the New Year. In the short term, pallets are available for trial and evaluation.
